Pupil Mentoring: Buddy System

Fernhill has developed a buddy approach with senior pupils helping junior pupils. This entails:

​

• žSenior pupils being  allocated a junior pupil in Primary and secondary

• žThe senior pupils act as a critical friend and advisor and if there are issues which arise they would then notify staff.

 

This is a very simple yet effective system that develops the interpersonal skills and leadership skills of the senior pupil while offering support and advice to the younger pupil from one of his/her senior colleagues.
