Staff Mentoring

In addition to the support given on curricular issues and to aid learning and teaching, Fernhill School offers pastoral support to every pupil in the Secondary department through a mentoring programme. There are a range of approaches employed to ensure that pastoral support is given to meet the needs of all pupils.

 

Each teacher is allocated a number of pupils with pupils from the same family being placed with the same mentor. This team approach is very effective in ensuring pupils receive advice from staff with whom they are in everyday contact. The unbroken partnership between pupil and teacher ensures a caring and productive experience.
